Aptus Court Reporting is actively seeking independent contract videographers to add to our growing team in the Los Angeles market. We are looking for experienced candidates who have a minimum of 2 years’ experience and who have embraced the ever-changing technology in the reporting industry. Certified Legal Video Specialists (CLVS) in good standing or those with similar certifications or credentials are preferred.

Job Requirements

-Experience shooting depositions to meet or exceed Aptus Court Reporting and CLVS standards
-Ability to excel in a professional work environment
-Excellent interpersonal skills interacting with clients, reporters and Aptus staff
-Experience troubleshooting technical issues
-Reliable transportation (with insurance)

Desired Qualifications
-Familiar with all types of professional videography equipment
-Equipment must be properly maintained and updated
-Ability to capture media without DVDs or tapes
-Must have sufficient bandwidth to upload videos within 24 hours
-Litigation support and legal experience preferred
-Experience working with various litigation or non-linear editing software (TMPGE, Time Coder Pro, YesLaw, DVD Authoring Software, AVID, Final Cut, file sharing platforms & Trial Director)
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Excel and Word in particular
-A strong aptitude towards technology (information technology, web-based systems or videography) plus a willingness to learn new technological skills
-Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
-Flexible availability. Extended weekday hours when required, occasional weekend work possible. Must be open to weekday travel as needed
-Experience with presenting evidence (documents and video) in the courtroom a plus
